Love means never having to say

"I'm sorry your Valentine's Day promotion tanked."

A Valentine's Day [or any holiday] promotion is a great opportunity to re-connect with customers and build your relationship. Unfortunately, the opportunity is often wasted with copy that has the emotional weight of a

heart-shaped Mylar balloon.

Please. As a Valentine’s Day gift to me, do not write lines like “Sweet deals for your sweetheart” or “An offer you will love.” I can't take it. Really, I can't.

Can the clichés. Dump the puns. Take the holiday-themed work as seriously [or ironically] as all the rest. And remember: This is not only an opportunity to make your brand an integral part of your customers' lives; it's a chance to make me happy.
